Greater Cincinnati Businesses Help Pump $35 Million into Local Economy

Over the last 12 months, hundreds of BNI-member business owners and entrepreneurs continued to build new business and boost our region’s economy. Through effective networking and relationship-based referrals, these local businesses increased their own profits while pumping more than $35 million into the local economy.

BNI, Business Network International, provides a structured environment for the exchange of quality business referrals by helping members build personal relationships with other business professionals.

BNI members live by the “Giver’s Gain” philosophy, practicing the proven concept that even in business "what goes around comes around." If we help each other, we both benefit as a result. That philosophy has resulted in growth and success for dozens of local businesses.

The BNI Southwest Ohio/Northern Kentucky region currently has 44 chapters made up of more than 1,200 members in various professions.

  • During this last BNI term (October 1, 2013-September 30, 2014), these chapters passed more than 39,000 business referrals, which resulted in $35+ million in business for its members (an increase of 33% over the previous year).
  • Twelve of the region’s BNI chapters each achieved more than $1 million.
  • One BNI chapter – the region’s largest - reached more than $3.2 million.

“Our BNI members include entrepreneurs, sales people and business professionals in the Tri-State,” said Brennan Scanlon, Co-Executive Director of BNI Southwest Ohio/Northern Kentucky. “These folks are the drivers of our region’s economic growth. By learning about one another’s businesses, they’re passing referrals, closing business and strengthening our local economy.”

BNI chapters continue to actively recruit new members from many professions throughout the Greater Cincinnati area. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to visit BNI’s weekly meetings. Additional information, chapter meeting times and locations can be found at www.bniswonky.com.
